Usage
Usage of the Tennis Ladder in the tennis club:
1. Challenging ( to Challenge )
- Tennis club members make appointments themselves with contestants from the Singles or Doubles Ladders.
- When a challenge is accepted (after login) it is confirmed as a match in the Ladder system.
- Unable to play? There are no consequences if you refuse a challenge/match.
You can challenge up to 4 players above you (higher than you) in the Ladder, without obligations. - It is up to the players to set a date and time for a match ( within 2 weeks ).
- A player(contestant) can play a maximum of 10 matches a week.
- ATTENTION members of Tennisladder!
Your designated login is for challenging, accepting and confirming scores.
A reply to an e-mail from Tennisladder will not be received by the other player
2. Accepting ( to accept )
- Players make a reservation themselves, according to the rules of their tennis club.
- Should a match be cancelled, one of the player will report this (through his/her login at Tennisladder) at "my playing schedule" and ticks the box "cancel"
- The opponent(s) will automatically receive an e-mail (message) that the scheduled match is cancelled.
- The score of a match is on the basis of won games, not sets. For example: you have played for 45 minutes and the score in games is 8-3.
Or you play 2 sets, the scores are 6-3 and 6-2, the score for the Ladder will be noted as 12-5. - Should one of the player not appear (not turn up) for a match without notification, the other(s) will automatically win with 6-0.
- Holiday or injury? Unable to play or be challenged for a while? Put yourself on suspension ( non/active ) for a while.
Click on " information " in the menu. A page opens with your membership details, you click on "the pencil". There will appear a page with boxes to fill in with your data. On the line " status " you can change " active " to " suspended/ "non-active"
Complete/save this by clicking the box " alter/change/ confirm " at the bottom of the page.
As a player, you are now off the "to be challenged" list. You will still be on the overall players' list of the Tennisladder.
Ready to play again? Just change the box back to "active" again, confirm at the bottom of the page and you can challenge or be challenged again.
3. Results / Scores
- After the match, one of the players reports the score through his/her login of the Tennisladder.
- There will be an automated e-mail/message to the opponents of that match and after his/her/their confirmation the score will be processed.
- Contestants/players get 1 playing point for each match played, the winner gets an additional playing point.
- Playing points will be processed into the summary of played matches, after confirmation of the scores.
- If the one who challenged wins, the players switch places on the Tennisladder. So if you are on number 12, you challenged number 8 and you won, you will be on number 8 and the other player will be on number 12. If you lost, you will stay where you are.
- Should there be any disagreement about a match, players will consult the manager of the club. He/she will mediate and help to find a solution. The ultimate decision lies with the manager.
- In case of a tie (draw) the score will be processed, the payers get no extra points.
The match will be saved in the summary under " my scores " and "played matches". - If you have challenged someone and you played the match, you cannot challenge the same player again within one week.
Have fun playing this Tennisleague ! (TennisLadder)
